MORNING:
1. If you’re interested in history, take an historical walking tour and visit all the main attractions of Athens. See the Acropolis and learn some of its history with a licensed tour guide. There are 8 top museums on Greek themes in Athens (see points 17,18,19,20,21,22,23,24,25 on the map).
2. Hop on-Hop off an open bus and enjoy a nice drive around the city. Need something more active? Take a boat tour or cruise on a sailboat; go on a bicycle tour and see Athens from a different perspective.
3.History isn’t your thing? Are you more of a foodie? Then sample the local food and learn about the Greek food culture and products or visit a winery outside Athens for a wine-tasting tour. Or visit one of the many theme museums in Athens, such as the new Museum of Modern Art
4.Want to relax? Swim in the turquoise thermal waters of the spectacular Vouliagmeni Lake; take a one-day Olympic Cruise to three beautiful islands in the Saronic Gulf. The port is within walking distance of Nestorion (Save money)
5. Take a day tour outside Athens such us an excursion to Cape Sounion, Delphi or Corinthos - Argolis - Nafplio (150km) or Chalkida (88 km), or even to the nearby islands. You might also kitesurf in the Aegean Sea.
LUNCH TIME:
6. Time to take a break, enjoy lunch, recharge your batteries before you go on exploring the city. Whether you want to have a snack or a meal, traditional or modern, Greek or International, there are very good restaurants and taverns all around Athens or Palaio Faliro with excellent food.
AFTERNOON:
7. How about shopping? Athens has become a shopper's paradise, with large shopping malls, prestigious department stores, famous brands of cosmetics, well -known international brands, but also small local stores, Greek brands, handmade leather goods, jewelry, souvenir shops, traditional products and many more. The Pandrossou Street market is delightful!
8. Tired of shopping? Treat yourself to foot therapy, yoga or pilates.
EVENING - NIGHT:
9. The Mediterranean diet is a recommended modern nutritional way to eat inspired by the traditional dietary patterns of Greece, Southern Italy and Spain. Take a hands-on cooking lesson and dinner; prepare your own Greek food, learn the secrets of the Mediterranean diet, take back with you some authentic Greek recipes and have a delicious dinner that you have cooked yourself.
10. Athens is a lively city, with many restaurants, bars, and a lot of Greek music. Choose a good restaurant in Palaio Faliro or Plaka or Kerameikos - Gazi or Monastiraki Pseiri and let yourself experience the Greek way to have fun.
