Ενα ποιητικό θαλασσινό ταξίδι στη Δήλο, Anne Ruth Rodopoulos Australia Greece for ever

Beautiful Island of  Delos, your  dignity and history,
Shine alone and speak with an ancient perfume,
Of the shining and vivid wild flowers, that now abound.

The scented breeze blows and bends your blooms towards the sea,
Sometimes a whisper, sometimes harsh.
Neptune reminds us of the rugged cliffs and might of the sea,
As it sends great waves with white foam necklaces to adorn the sand and rocks,

The night arrives and the Sapphire water changes to a tranquil and glistening pallete,
Deep and dark with the moonlight as a path for the ancient souls to walk .
Quiet reigns as the sounds of a sea bird adds some musical nuances to the nigh.
The spirits of the long gone people remain,
In ancient songs and poetry still recorded in air and earth.

Ancient sea and wooden boats, ancient footsteps and muffles voices.
Delos, your wild flowers live on alone, through wintery cold, and Summer heat.
Your precious seeds have spread below to sleep for a time in the cool earth,
Awaiting Spring to  touch and gently speak of the warmth and sun . .
